Dashboard

The Babel Licensing Plugin Dashboard provides a comprehensive view of licensing activities and metrics within your WordPress environment. This dashboard is designed to give administrators quick insights into sales performance, license distribution, and token usage across different products and license types. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the various components of the dashboard:

Sales and License Distribution Chart

The dashboard integrates two dropdown menus, each designed for a unique role in adapting the data visualization. These menus enable users to flexibly change the data's scope and focus to meet particular requirements or explore specific interests.

  • License Metrics Selection: Allows users to switch the displayed data among 'Licenses by Product', 'License Types', and 'Licenses Trends'.

  • Time Frame Selection: Users can select the timeframe for the data, with options such as the last 7, 14, or 30 days.

Licenses by Products

Provides a pie chart detailing the distribution of licenses sold over the selected period, grouped by product type.

This chart displays a breakdown of licenses sold, grouped by product. Each segment of the pie represents a different product, with the number of licenses sold indicated next to each segment. The total sales value over the selected period is prominently displayed in the center of the pie chart.

License Types

Shows a pie chart of the various types of licenses sold, useful for understanding the mix of license models (e.g., single-user, multi-user, subscription) being purchased.

License Activity

The map displayed represents the geographical tracing of license activities enabled by the Babel Licensing system. When license tracing is activated, the system captures and visualizes the location data associated with each license's activation, deactivation, and floating license transactions such as requests and releases. Each blue dot on the map indicates a specific event, providing a visual representation of where and how often licenses are being utilized globally.

Users can interact with the map by clicking on any of the blue points. Doing so will redirect them to a dedicated licenses page, which displays detailed information about the licenses associated with the activity at that specific location. This feature allows users to quickly access and review the licensing details relevant to each geographical trace, facilitating efficient management and oversight of software licenses.

This geolocation tracking feature is particularly valuable for understanding the distribution and usage patterns of software licenses. It helps software providers gauge market penetration and detect any unauthorized use across different regions. By analyzing these patterns, companies can make informed decisions regarding market strategies, customer support, and product development. The map tool includes zoom and pan functionalities, allowing for a detailed and focused view of activity in specific areas, enhancing the ability to monitor license operations effectively and securely.

Offers a bar chart comparing the monthly sales of licenses over the current and previous year, along with an average line that indicates the typical number of licenses sold each month. This is particularly helpful for spotting trends and planning for seasonal variations in sales.

License Tokens

This graphical representation that shows the distribution and status of license tokens. Easily identify how many tokens are in use, available, nearing expiration, or suitable for revocation, helping in quick visual assessment and management.

  • Total License Tokens (Blue Bar): Represents the total number of license tokens currently allocated within the system.

  • Active Tokens (Green Bar): Indicates the number of tokens actively allocated by all floating and activation licenses. These tokens are in use and contribute directly to current license operations. The number of active tokens is also displayed on a label at the far end of the active tokens bar.

  • Expired/Revokable Tokens (Yellow Bar): Shows the number of tokens that are expired or associated with revoked licenses. These tokens are scheduled for deletion during normal system operations and do not impact the total number of allocatable tokens.

License Summary Stats

  • Total Licenses: Displays the total count of licenses managed within the system including Files, Activation and Floating licenses.

  • Revoked Licenses: Indicates the number of licenses that have been revoked.

  • Activation Licenses: Shows the number of activation licenses, which are typically tied to a specific device or installation.

  • Floating Licenses: Represents the number of floating licenses, which can be used across multiple devices or installations but are limited to a certain number of concurrent uses.
